激務です！ Hard Labor!

先週は、シフトを変更して、長時間働かなければ なりませんでした。 そのため、絵を描く時間がありませんでした。 この忙しさは私の(かつての)農場生活の記憶を思い起こさせたので、今日は当時の経験について書きます。

 ティーンエイジャーだったとき、フロリダの南東部の町ジュピターで小さな農場に住んでいました。馬や牛、鶏、豚がいました。 農場は大変な仕事でした。 私は毎朝午前4時半に起きて、学校に行く前に農場で働きました。 私の気持ちは気持ちは関係ありませんでした。 仕事をしなければならなかったです。 風邪をひいていたかもしれません。 激しい暴風雨にあったかもしれません！ それでも、私は動物を世話するために毎朝、毎晩、働いていました。

私はそれが好きではなかったですが、一生懸命働くことの価値を学びました。 そして、馬に乗って楽みました！ 私は歩いて森をたくさん探検しました。パルメットの茂みの中の動物の小道を辿っていくのは楽しかったです。

農場生活は、ディズニーワールドでの激務に耐えられるように、私を鍛えてくれました。 一枚目の写真の時、私は13歳でした。 ディズニーの写真の時で、２２歳でした。 1992年ですよ！ 近頃の私は疲れやすいです。 私はもう昔のような体力を持っていません。
 
Last week, I had to change shifts and work for a long time. Therefore, I did not have time to paint. Since hard work reminds me of memories of farm life, I will share a past experience with you.

When I was a teenager, I lived on a small farm in Jupiter, a town in the southeastern part of Florida. We had horses, cows, chickens, and pigs. It was strenuous work. I woke up at 4:30 am every morning and work before going to school. It didn't matter how I felt. I had to work. I might have the flu. There might be a severe storm! Nevertheless, I worked every morning and night to care for the animals.

I didn't like it, but I learned the value of hard work. Still, I enjoyed horseback riding! I explored the woods on foot a lot too. It was fun to follow animal trails through palmetto thickets.

Fram life prepared me for hard work at Disney World. In the photos, I was 13 years old. In the Disney photo, I was 22. That was 1992! I get tired easily these days. I don't have the same strength anymore...Lol!

３つのプロジェクトです！

私は春の絵のスケッチを描き始めました。 何年も前に地元の公園でその写真を撮りました。 ブラッドフォードの木は、私の町ではよく見られます。 新しいモチーフに取り組みつつ、3度目の「冬の道」も描き始めました！ 絵のために新しい油絵の具を買いました｡  ペインズグレーとローアンバーです。 ３度目の正直になるといいのですが！

私は、友達と彼の孫娘のポートレートも描いています。 ポートレートが完成したら、私はそれを日本に郵送します。 私はそれぞれのプロジェクトに心を注ぎます。

I started drawing a sketch for the spring painting. I took the photo many years ago at a local park. Bradford pear trees are common in my town. While I am working on the new motif, I started "Winter Road" a third time! I bought new oil paint for the painting, Payne's gray and raw umber. Third time's a charm!

I am also drawing a portrait of my friend with his granddaughter. When the portrait is completed, I will mail it to Japan. I will pour my heart into each project.

冬の道の絵画の第五段階です。

絵は完成しましたが、私は出来映えに満足していません。 絵は、予定通りに行きませんでした。  なぜか分かりませんが、油絵の具は下層に定着しませんでした。  大部分は正しい色と色調を見つけることができませんでした。  しかし今回の失敗が今後試す手法の新しいアイディアをくれました。 モザイク手法です。 何層にも色を重ねて描く代わりに、一筆ずつパズルのピースのように描きます。 春の絵でモザイク手法を試します。

The painting was completed, but I am not satisfied with the workmanship. The picture did not go as planned. I don't know why, oil paint did not adhere to the lower layers. For the most part I could not find the right colors and tones. But this failure gives me a new idea for a method to try in the future. It is a mosaic method. Instead of painting colors on many layers, I will paint like puzzle pieces one by one. I will try the mosaic method with the spring painting.

やる気が湧いてきた。

昨日、憂鬱と戦っていました。 私は気分が悪くなりました。 昨晩、それは、Googleハングアウトで友達と言語や創造力の交換でした。 今日、私はやる気が湧いてきた。  あなたの優しさに感謝します。

Yesterday, I was struggling with depression. I felt sick. Last night, it was a language and creativity exchange with a friend on Google Hangout. Today, I became motivated. I appreciate it. I really needed that!

冬の道の絵画の第四段階です。

 

今日は、アートセンターに少し遅れました。 朝は湿っぽくて、とても寒くて、曇っていまた。 それは、冬景色を描く気分に私を誘い入れました。 先ず、私はコーヒーを買うために喫茶店に立ち寄りました。 バリスタは話し好きで、私たちは20分程、話をしました。 喫茶店にはお客さんが誰もいなかったので、彼女は退屈そうでした。 楽しい雑談が好きです！　

絵を描き始めたとき、フレンチマリンブルーとクリムソンとカドミウムオレンジを使いました。 バーントアンバーを使って木を描きました。 このテーマは私にとって難しい挑戦です！

I was a little late to the art center today. The morning was very damp, frigid, and overcast. It put me in the mood to paint a winter scene. First, I stopped by the cafe for a coffee. The barista was talkative, so we talked for 20 minutes. She seemed bored, because the cafe was empty. I like a good chat!

When I started painting, I used french ultramarine blue, Alizarin Crimson, and cadmium orange. I painted the trees using burnt umber. This theme is a difficult challenge for me!

冬のインスピレーションです。

冬の道の絵画の第三段階です。

今日は、3時間作業をしました。 絵の出来栄えが 好きではなかったので、もう一度やり直すことにしたのです。 熱意を持って描いたのですが、最初に思い描いていたイメージからずいぶんかけ離れてしまいました。 でも、世界の終わりというわけではありませんね。

Today, I worked for 3 hours. I didn't like the result, so I decided to start the painting over again. Having a lot of enthusiasm, I strayed too far from my plan. However, the world hasn't ended yet, right?

先ずは余分な油絵具を拭き取る必要があります。 First, I have to wipe off the excess oil paint.

次に、大きなブラシと水を使って底部の層を取り除きます。 Next, I use a large brush and water to remove the bottom layer.

私はペーパータオルでキャンバスを乾かします。 I dry the canvas with a paper towel.

遂に、ジェッソを付けます。 Finally, I apply gesso.

ジャーン！ 新しいキャンバスです。 Ta-dah! A new canvas.

よし、もう一度始めよう！ Alright, let's start again!
